You don’t need to get on the floor to train your core — this 20-minute standing session works your core from every angle at home with just a wall and one light dumbbell (or a full water bottle).
Warm up for 2 minutes with marching in place (60 seconds) and standing torso turns (8 each side). Stay tall, move slow, and hold a chair or the wall for balance any time you need it. Then complete 3 rounds, resting 45–60 seconds between rounds:
Standing Knee-to-Elbow — 10 each side. Lift a knee and bring the opposite elbow toward it, slow and tall.
Dumbbell Woodchop — 8 each side. Light weight, low to high across your body; let your hips do the turning.
Dumbbell Halo — 8 each direction. Circle the weight slowly around your head, ribs down and core braced.
Suitcase March — 20 seconds each side. One dumbbell at your side; march tall without leaning away from it.
Wall Plank Hold — 30 seconds. Hands on the wall, step back into one straight line, and breathe steady.
That’s a complete core day in 20 minutes — no crunches, no floor work, no gym. Save it for your next session, and follow Goals B4 Excuses for a new workout every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. No gym required. No excuses accepted.
